The Old Tower

It so happened that on one cold February morning we moved to an apartment in the historical center of Locarno, the smiling small Swiss town situated in the Canton Ticino, from which the town’s medieval tower – built as part of old fortifications, appears in all its splendor. Built in stone and five levels, it probably had a small square from which narrow streets led up between houses as passage when floods and high tide from the lake covered the lower mainsquare. Few months after we moved, we visited a cat show held at a lakeside small palace.  Right away, we were attracted by a little hairless creature with longing eyes.  Immediately, the rest of the cats lost all importance in our eyes.  Upon arriving home, we started research in order to find more information on this breed.  Next day, we got in contact with a cattery in Geneva Les Elfes du Lac where we reserved our little Zeian.  In the meantime another guest came to live with us, Ice-cream (known as Charly), a Devon Rex that came from Tao del Miao, a breeder in Trieste.  We wanted these little animals for company only.  No one thought about the adventure of breeding yet. Our life together however created a desire to enlarge the family with more ambitious intentions.  Why not try and enter the world of breeding?  We first wanted to personally experience the emotions provided by birth of the little ones and their daily discoveries of the world around them, teaching them, and selecting the healthy, strong and cute.  So, a long and extensive search started.  At the end, we found Day Dreamer (known as Theo) that came to us from the cattery Le Grand Tanushi in Holland.  Miriam, the breeder, was keeping us informed on his health and was regularly sending photos.  The wait was long, but finally one day, the little one arrived by plane.  And here is where the OLD TOWER came to life. Today also our little Kira is arrived. We are now proud of our family. The Old Tower will forever remain a small cattery, and the number of cats will never be excessive.  Every one of our family members deserves a lot of attention and infinite love.

We are members of the Cat Club of Geneva and the Sphynx's Club of France.
